An important and very rare, dated, early 17c German bronze block plane 4" x 1 1/2" profusely decorated overall with "lions head" feature protruding from the toe and dated 1632 around the heel. Provenance; this plane was displayed in the Musee des Arts Decoratifs, Exposition 1932 and later in the Michel Rullier Collection in France, a similar undated plane was sold for £5000 in England in 1988. This plane sold for £10500 in our catalogue No 56 Lot 417 in 2010 to an American collector G
